The next 24 hours carry three medium-impact releases, clustered into two windows: a euro area inflation double-header at 10:00 UTC, then the US ISM services reading at 15:00 UTC.
Euro Area CPI Flash (10:00 UTC)
The headline CPI flash estimate for the euro area is the session’s first mover, due at 10:00 UTC. It measures consumer price inflation across the bloc on a year-over-year basis, and the flash print is the market’s earliest read before the final revision.
The forecast is 4.0%, up from the previous 3.8% β a projected acceleration of 0.2 points. This one feeds directly into the euro.
The core CPI flash estimate lands at the same 10:00 UTC. Core strips out volatile food and energy to show the underlying trend, and it is forecast at 2.5%, matching the previous 2.5% with no change expected.
The gap between the two is the detail to note: headline is seen climbing to 4.0% while core holds flat at 2.5%. Both are EUR releases, and both hit at the same minute.
US ISM Services (15:00 UTC)
Focus shifts to the dollar at 15:00 UTC with the ISM Services PMI. The index surveys purchasing managers across US service industries, where a reading above 50 marks expansion and below 50 marks contraction.
The forecast is 54.8 against a previous 54.9 β essentially flat, a fractional slip that still leaves the services sector in expansion. It is a USD print, and the only US data point on the near-term calendar.
What to Watch
10:00 UTC is the busiest point of the session, with two of the three releases landing on the euro at once: headline CPI at 4.0% and core at 2.5%. The dollar’s turn follows five hours later, with an ISM services figure forecast at 54.8, barely moved from 54.9.
