Europe’s benchmarks split as the London session wound down. The IBEX 35 fell 1.58% and the Euro Stoxx 50 dropped 1.23%, while Frankfurt’s DAX 40 pushed 0.3% higher β€” a clean divergence across the continent’s main boards.

European Equities

Madrid led the retreat. The IBEX 35 fell 1.58% to 18,563.23, deepening a 2.24% weekly loss, though it still holds a 15.81% gain over the year. The Euro Stoxx 50 dropped 1.23% to 6,121.08 and the CAC 40 eased 0.34% to 7,955.42.

Frankfurt diverged. The DAX 40 added 0.3% to 25,857.91, extending a 1.79% weekly advance and a 7.69% gain on the year. London’s FTSE 100 firmed 0.19% to 10,749.90, up 2.43% on the month.

Wall Street opened steadier into the European close: the S&P 500 rose 0.41% to 7,611.53, the Nasdaq 100 added 0.52% to 28,532.38 and the Dow Jones 30 gained 0.34% to 51,963.45. The Nasdaq still sits 7.35% lower on the month. The Hang Seng was the day’s strongest index, up 1.0% to 23,342.86.

Metals

Precious metals firmed. Silver gained 1.34% to 49.78 and platinum matched it, up 1.34% to 1,451.87 β€” yet both remain deep in the red over the month, silver -17.51% and platinum -14.40%.

Gold rose 0.59% to 3,898.89, recovering little of a 2.66% weekly and 5.81% monthly slide. Palladium added 0.49% to 992.17, down 15.34% on the month.

Crypto

Uniswap’s UNIUSD was the broad market’s top gainer, up 1.95% to 7.221, though still off 20.2% over the month. The heaviest fallers sat in the same corner: LNKUSD dropped 2.18% to 11.377 and GRTUSD lost 1.97% to 0.0199, the latter down 69.38% on the year.

Majors were calmer. Bitcoin edged up 0.5% to 77,813.58 and Ethereum added 0.49% to 2,262.63, while Solana slipped 1.07% to 94.25 and BNB rose 0.72% to 708.06.

Currencies and Crude

FX barely moved. EUR/USD held at 1.11566 and GBP/USD at 1.33853, both within 0.01% of the prior close. The larger steps were in the crosses: EUR/PLN rose 0.51% to 4.4124 and USD/NOK gained 0.19% to 9.21912.

Crude slipped on the session. Brent (UKOil) fell 0.98% to 110.74 and WTI (USOil) eased 0.76% to 101.35, though both remain sharply higher on the year, up 70.08% and 65.57% respectively.

The Nasdaq 100 remains the month’s soft spot, down 7.35%.
