The Japanese yen eased across the board after Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda spoke at 16:00 UTC on 6 November. CHFJPY led the reaction, rising 0.15% in the 30 minutes since the remarks landed, while every other yen cross on our feed edged higher too.
Where the yen moved
CHFJPY was the clearest mover, climbing from 192.910 to 193.203 β a 0.15% gain as the franc firmed against the yen.
EURJPY followed at roughly half that pace, up 0.08% from 176.361 to 176.499. GBPJPY was close behind, adding 0.07% from 211.405 to 211.555.
The remaining crosses shifted less. AUDJPY rose 0.06% from 108.748 to 108.808, CADJPY added 0.03% from 112.201 to 112.239, and NZDJPY trailed with a 0.03% move from 87.814 to 87.838.
What the reaction shows
Every yen cross on our feed moved the same way, leaving the yen softer against all six counterparts 30 minutes on. The reaction itself was modest and tightly clustered at the smaller end of the scale.
The weight sat with the franc. CHFJPY’s move was roughly double the next-largest, EURJPY, and several times the size of the shifts in the Antipodean and Canadian crosses, where the change barely registered. Beyond that single cross, the response reads as a broad but muted yen drift rather than a sharp, one-sided repricing.
