Australia’s RBA cash rate decision and accompanying Monetary Policy Statement landed at 03:30 UTC on 3 November, and the Australian dollar eased across every pair on our feed. AUDCHF led the reaction, slipping 0.32%.
Where the Australian dollar moved
The franc cross moved most: AUDCHF fell from 0.573205 to 0.571365, a 0.32% decline β the largest single reaction in the set.
The euro and pound both firmed against the Aussie by an identical margin. EURAUD rose 0.25%, climbing from 1.599025 to 1.602995, while GBPAUD added 0.25%, lifting from 1.91595 to 1.9207. In both crosses the Aussie sits on the quote side, so the higher levels mark Australian dollar weakness.
Among the remaining AUD-base pairs, AUDCAD eased 0.24% from 0.97843 to 0.976125, AUDUSD dipped 0.21% from 0.69944 to 0.697945, and AUDSGD softened 0.21% from 0.895285 to 0.89342.
What the reaction shows
Every instrument pointed the same way: the Australian dollar was weaker after the statement, whether measured against the franc, euro, pound, loonie, greenback or Singapore dollar.
The moves were modest and tightly clustered, spanning roughly 0.21% to 0.32%, with the reaction skewed slightly toward the franc. There was no outsized swing in any single cross β the softening was broad rather than sharp. With every cross moving in step and none breaking out, the feed shows a measured, uniform response rather than a dramatic repricing.
