The Reserve Bank of Australia’s press conference crossed the wires at 04:30 UTC on 3 November, and the Australian dollar eased a touch against every major cross β with AUDCHF marking the widest move at -0.10%.
Where the Aussie moved
AUDCHF led the slip, drifting from 0.57180 to 0.57121, a 0.10% decline.
The euro picked up the most ground on the Aussie: EURAUD rose 0.10%, from 1.60189 to 1.60343.
AUDCAD followed closely, down 0.09% from 0.97649 to 0.97558, while AUDUSD shed 0.09% to 0.69775 from 0.69836.
Sterling also firmed against the Aussie, GBPAUD up 0.08% from 1.91958 to 1.92115. AUDSGD rounded out the board, easing 0.08% from 0.89404 to 0.89331.
What the reaction shows
Every instrument on our feed pointed the same way: the Australian dollar softer, its crosses either down (where AUD leads the pair) or up (where it trails). The direction was unanimous, but the scale was slight β all six moves sat within roughly two-hundredths of a percentage point of one another.
No single cross broke away from the pack, and none travelled more than a tenth of a percent in the minutes after the conference. The reaction reads as broad but shallow β a uniform, muted drift lower rather than a decisive repricing.
