The trading day opens with crypto owning the top of the board. Dogecoin leads the gainers at +4.43% to $0.0967, Cardano follows at +3.41% to $0.2515, and the major currency pairs have barely moved overnight.

Crypto

Behind Dogecoin and Cardano, Tezos (XTZ) added +2.77% to $0.3045 — now up +43.16% on the month and +6.1% on the week. Stellar gained +2.0% to $0.21998 and XRP +1.76% to $1.511.

The larger caps firmed more modestly. Bitcoin rose +1.32% to $85,847.82, up +7.56% on the month but still -30.5% on the year. Solana added +1.53% to $121.35 (+17.69% month) and Ethereum +0.72% to $2,705.82.

The standout decliner was Bitcoin Cash, -1.11% to $315.87, though it still holds a +23.39% month.

Currencies

Against that, the majors were nearly still. EUR/USD sat +0.08% at 1.1257, GBP/USD -0.01% at 1.32341, and USD/JPY unchanged at 157.85. AUD/USD held at 0.69531, down -3.47% on the month, with NZD/USD at 0.56055, off -4.62% on the month.

The dollar’s softest notes came against the Scandinavian and emerging currencies: USD/NOK -0.55% to 9.55186, USD/SEK -0.47% to 9.98915, and USD/ZAR -0.48% to 16.561.

Equities

The clearest stress point is in Hong Kong. The Hang Seng fell -2.27% to 23,879.76, extending losses to -6.99% on the month and -11.97% on the year — the day’s biggest decliner across all asset classes.

Europe opened the other way: the Euro Stoxx 50 rose +1.25% to 6,255.78 and the CAC 40 +1.19% to 7,918.48. US benchmarks were quieter, with the S&P 500 +0.14% at 7,732.75 and the Nasdaq 100 +0.3% at 30,889, the latter up +24.26% on the year. The Nikkei 225 held at 69,539.45 after a +6.31% week.

Metals and energy

Gold was flat, +0.08% to $4,142.68 and down -6.52% on the month, while silver added +0.5% to $60.65. Crude eased: UKOil -0.68% to $101.10 and USOil -0.60% to $89.83, both still up more than 45% on the year.

Into the session, crypto is the clear source of movement and the Hang Seng the clear weak spot, while the major FX pairs remain the quietest corner of the board.
