Crude was the standout into the New York close, with USOil up 2.48% to 92.37 and UKOil up 2.41% to 103.95. The move left both barrels firmly higher on the week, USOil 3.57% and UKOil 4.01%. The session’s heaviest losses were in crypto, where selling ran deep and broad.

Crypto

Uniswap’s UNIUSD led the entire board lower, down 10.23% to 6.97 and off 18.55% over the week. Graph token GRTUSD fell 5.73% to 0.0263, Bitcoin Cash dropped 4.58% to 272.67, and XTZUSD and Cardano shed 4.24% and 4.01% respectively. Cardano now sits 66.86% lower on the year at 0.2415.

The majors held up better in relative terms but still finished red. Bitcoin eased 1.00% to 82,828.1 and Ethereum slipped 0.88% to 2,511.21, trimming its weekly loss to 6.89%. Solana fell 2.74% to 108.1, Litecoin 3.53% to 62.27 and XRP 3.15% to 1.3634. Several of these names remain sharply higher on the month even after the pullback, GRTUSD up 45.3% and Bitcoin Cash up 23.64%.

Energy and Metals

Away from crypto, crude did the heavy lifting. USOil is still down 6.36% on the month despite the day’s gain, while UKOil is roughly flat over that window at 0.04%. On the year both sit well higher, 55.73% and 64.42%.

Metals leaned softer. Gold eased 0.45% to 4,171.63, leaving it 3.72% lower on the month, and silver fell 1.05% to 60.28, now down 5.65% over 30 days. Palladium dropped 1.39% to 1,142.71 and is off 11.31% on the month, the weakest of the group, while platinum edged up 0.13% to 1,695.38.

Currencies and Indices

The dollar firmed against most majors. USDCHF rose 0.51% to 0.83395 and USDJPY added 0.29% to 158.63, now up 3.40% on the month. EURUSD fell 0.44% to 1.11517, extending its monthly decline to 3.79%, and GBPUSD slipped 0.24% to 1.32032. The commodity currencies were on the back foot, NZDUSD down 0.50% to 0.55829 and AUDUSD down 0.36% to 0.69576. The peso bucked the trend, with USDMXN down 1.04% to 18.224.

US equities were mixed. The Dow added 0.24% to 51,872.29, but the S&P 500 eased 0.28% to 7,807.02 and the Nasdaq 100 fell 1.23% to 30,651.16, down 1.88% on the week. In Europe the IBEX 35 rose 0.71% and the FTSE 100 added 0.52% to 10,644.71. Tokyo lagged, the Nikkei 225 off 1.19% to 68,187.3, though it remains 44.5% higher on the year.

The Nasdaq and crypto stay the session’s clear soft spots, while crude is the one corner finishing broadly bid.
