Cardano topped the board into the close, climbing 3.51% to $0.2684. But the crypto tape split hard: Stellar led every decliner at -3.61%, and crude oil was the clearest macro casualty of the US session.
Crypto
Cardano’s session gain extends a 10.05% week and a 20.41% month. Polkadot followed, up 2.58% to $1.233 and 26.33% higher over 30 days, while Tezos (XTZUSD) added 1.32% to sit 43.39% above its month-ago level.
The majors were heavier. Bitcoin eased 0.82% to $85,787.77 and Ethereum slipped 0.47% to $2,713.37. On the downside, Stellar fell 3.61% to $0.21556, Chainlink (LNKUSD) dropped 2.37% to $13.932, and BNB shed 1.16% to $785.12.
Energy
Crude was the session’s weak spot outside crypto. Brent (UKOil) fell 1.91% to $99.16 and WTI (USOil) dropped 1.59% to $88.39. Both still hold outsized annual gains — Brent 51.64% and WTI 43.67% — and Brent remains 4.10% higher on the week despite the slide.
Equities
US stocks closed firmer. The S&P 500 rose 0.58% to 7,777.99 and the Nasdaq 100 added 0.64% to 31,091.80, extending a 5.30% month. The Dow Jones 30 edged up 0.14% to 51,302.13.
The standout globally was Hang Seng, up 1.78% to 24,304.66, with Spain’s IBEX 35 rising 1.03% and the Nikkei 225 adding 0.51% to 69,977.20 — now 44.73% higher on the year. Europe lagged: the CAC 40 fell 0.84% and sits down 5.20% on the month.
Metals and FX
Platinum firmed 0.95% to $1,720.48 and silver gained 0.69% to $61.06, while gold held flat at $4,141.57, down 6.37% over the month. In currencies, the euro eased 0.31% to $1.12168 and is off 1.08% on the week; USD/JPY ticked up 0.11% to 157.92, and USD/NOK fell 0.64% to 9.55571.
Crude remains the session’s weak point even as it holds a 40%-plus annual gain, and the crypto board stays divided between Cardano’s advance and Stellar’s drop.
