Crude oil topped the day’s board while the entire crypto complex sold off. USOil and UKOil each climbed more than 2.4%, even as UNIUSD led a broad digital-asset decline with a 10.23% drop to $6.97.

Energy leads the gainers

Both crude grades did the heavy lifting on the upside. USOil rose 2.48% to $92.37 and UKOil added 2.41% to $103.95, extending weekly gains of 3.57% and 4.01% respectively.

The longer view is stronger still: UKOil is up 64.42% over twelve months and USOil 55.73%. USOil remains 6.36% lower on the month, while UKOil is essentially flat over that window at +0.04%.

Crypto under pressure

The crypto board finished entirely in the red. UNIUSD was the single biggest loser across all 83 instruments, down 10.23% and off 18.55% on the week. GRTUSD fell 5.73% to $0.0263 and Bitcoin Cash dropped 4.58% to $272.67, now down 12.51% over seven days. Cardano shed 4.01% to $0.2415 and XTZUSD lost 4.24%.

The majors held up comparatively well. Bitcoin slipped 1.0% to $82,828 and Ethereum eased 0.88% to $2,511, while Solana fell 2.74% to $108.10. Several of these names remain sharply higher on the month β€” GRTUSD is still up 45.3% and Bitcoin Cash 23.64% β€” showing how much a single week has pared back.

Currencies and equities

The dollar firmed broadly. USDCHF rose 0.51% to 0.83395, among the day’s top gainers, while EURUSD slipped 0.44% to 1.11517 and is down 3.79% on the month. GBPUSD eased 0.24% to 1.32032 and USDJPY edged up 0.29% to 158.63. The Mexican peso bucked the trend, with USDMXN down 1.04% to 18.224.

European equities were mixed into the London close. The IBEX 35 led with a 0.71% gain to 19,266.37 and the FTSE 100 added 0.52% to 10,644.71, but the CAC 40 slipped 0.20% and sits 4.61% lower on the month. The DAX 40 ticked up 0.13% to 25,247.98. Tech lagged elsewhere: the Nasdaq 100 fell 1.23% to 30,651 and the Nikkei 225 dropped 1.19% to 68,187.

Metals

Precious metals softened. Gold eased 0.45% to $4,171.63 and silver fell 1.05% to $60.28, now down 5.65% on the month. Palladium was the weakest, off 1.39% to $1,142.71 and 11.31% lower over four weeks; platinum held flat at $1,695.38.

Crypto remains the session’s clear weak spot, with every covered coin lower on the day.
