The UK’s monthly GDP print landed at 06:00 UTC on 15 October, and the clearest reaction showed up in GBPNOK, which climbed about 0.27% while most other sterling crosses barely stirred.

Where the pound moved

GBPNOK led by a wide margin, rising from 12.5663 to 12.5996, a move of roughly 0.27% β€” several times larger than anything else on the board.

GBPCHF came next, firming from 1.09919 to 1.10015, up about 0.09%. The franc cross was the only other pair to post a visibly positive move.

Against the US dollar, the pound eased slightly: GBPUSD slipped from 1.32462 to 1.32383, down about 0.06% and the session’s sole decliner.

The remaining crosses hardly registered. GBPAUD edged up from 1.90556 to 1.90661 (+0.06%), while GBPJPY (209.129 to 209.139) and GBPCAD (1.88200 to 1.88203) were effectively flat.

What the reaction shows

The response was narrow rather than broad. Nearly all of the movement concentrated in GBPNOK, with GBPCHF a distant second and the dollar pair leaning the other way.

Across the yen, Aussie and Canadian crosses, the reaction was muted, pointing to a pound that did not move uniformly on the release. The headline shift was a GBPNOK story more than a sterling-wide one.
