Australia’s labour-force report is the highest-impact release on the calendar, due 01:30 UTC on Thursday. Before it lands, the euro area and UK move first with a full run of flash PMIs from 07:15 UTC β surveys of purchasing managers where a reading above 50 marks expansion and below 50 contraction.
Euro-area flash PMIs (07:15β07:30 UTC)
France opens the sequence at 07:15 UTC. Manufacturing PMI is forecast at 50.9, easing from 51.5 and holding just above the 50 line. Services is seen at 48.3 against 48.4 prior β a reading still below 50. Both feed into EUR.
Germany follows at 07:30 UTC. Manufacturing is expected to hold at 54.1, unchanged from the previous print and firmly in expansion. Services is forecast at 49.9 versus 48.5, edging back toward the 50 mark but not yet through it. These are the morning’s larger EUR inputs, given the size of the German economy.
UK flash PMIs (08:30 UTC)
The UK reports at 08:30 UTC. Manufacturing PMI is forecast unchanged at 51.5. Services β the far larger share of UK output β is seen slipping to 52.0 from 52.8, though still comfortably above 50. Both are the day’s key GBP releases.
Australia’s jobs data (01:30 UTC Thursday)
The high-impact events arrive overnight. Employment Change measures the net change in the number of people employed, and is forecast at +22.5K β a swing back to hiring after the prior -15.8K decline. The Unemployment Rate, the share of the labour force without work, is seen holding at 4.5%, matching the previous reading. Both carry AUD.
The euro-area services figures, both sitting below 50, are the morning’s softest numbers, while Australia’s employment swing from -15.8K to a forecast +22.5K is the session’s headline release.
