The outlier was MATIC, down 6.55% on the session and off 27.80% over the week.

Metals and energy

Gold eased 0.23% to $4,448.02 and is down 4.44% on the week, though still up 27.84% over twelve months. Silver was near flat at +0.13% to $66.51, holding a 63.62% yearly gain.

Crude firmed. USOil rose 1.81% to $85.51 and UKOil added 1.28% to $90.12, with both up more than 5% on the week and roughly 32% on the year.

Currencies and indices

The dollar softened broadly. USDNOK fell 0.86% to 9.28171 and USDZAR dropped 0.66% to 16.058, while USDCAD slipped 0.33% to 1.38532. EURUSD edged up 0.26% to 1.16154 and GBPUSD held at 1.35477.

USDJPY eased 0.22% to 159.75, keeping the yen 8.61% weaker against the dollar over the year. The Norwegian krone was the standout mover across the crosses, with GBPNOK down 0.98% and EURNOK off 0.81%.

Equities split by region. The Nikkei 225 jumped 1.57% to 65,820.55, up 55.52% on the year, and the Nasdaq 100 added 0.77% to 29,460.71. Europe lagged: the Euro Stoxx 50 fell 1.09% to 6,408.18, the DAX 40 dropped 0.92% and the CAC 40 lost 0.90%.

The S&P 500 nudged up 0.17% to 7,690.25 while the Dow slipped 0.33%.

Into the new session, the platinum-group metals remain the clear weak spot against a broadly bid crypto complex.
