Risk sentiment split cleanly by asset class into the close. Crypto firmed broadly, the platinum-group metals were dumped, and European equities finished in the red.

Crypto

The day’s biggest gainers were all digital assets. Cardano led at +3.07% to $0.1981, followed by Ethereum +2.6% at $2,479.40 and XRP +2.18% at $1.3863.

Bitcoin added 1.68% to $78,959.75, now up 24.37% on the month. Ethereum’s monthly run stands at +31.7%, and Solana rose 1.96% to $103.68, extending a 41.08% monthly gain.

The year-on-year picture stays deep in the red across the board β€” Cardano is down 75.28% over 12 months and XRP off 49.74%, even after the recent monthly bounce.

Metals

The move went the other way for the platinum group. Palladium dropped 4.73% to $1,369.41 and platinum fell 2.22% to $1,792.04, the session’s steepest losers outside a single altcoin.

Gold slipped 0.23% to $4,448.02 and is down 4.44% on the week, though still up 27.84% over the year. Silver edged up 0.13% to $66.51, holding a 63.62% year-on-year gain despite a 3.23% weekly pullback.

Indices and Oil

Europe lagged. The Euro Stoxx 50 fell 1.09% to 6,408.18, the DAX 40 lost 0.92% to 26,210.41, and the CAC 40 dropped 0.9% to 8,326.32 β€” now down 2.46% on the month.

Wall Street was mixed. The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.77% to 29,460.71 and the S&P 500 added 0.17% to 7,690.25, while the Dow eased 0.33%. The Nikkei 225 was the standout, up 1.57% to 65,820.55 and 55.52% higher over the year.

Crude extended its climb. US crude rose 1.81% to $85.51 and Brent added 1.28% to $90.12, leaving both up more than 5% on the week and over 32% on the year.

Currencies

The dollar softened against the commodity and Scandinavian bloc. USD/NOK fell 0.86% to 9.28171, USD/ZAR dropped 0.66% to 16.058, and USD/CAD eased 0.33% to 1.38532.

EUR/USD firmed 0.26% to 1.16154, while USD/JPY slipped 0.22% to 159.75. GBP/USD was little changed at 1.35477.

The platinum-group metals remain the session’s clear weak spot against an otherwise buoyant crypto and energy tape.
