Crypto did the heavy lifting into the US close. Stellar led the majors with a 9.23% jump to $0.19309, and XRP tacked on 7.75% to $1.4437.

Crypto

The strength ran deep. UNIUSD rose 6.61% to $6.5255, extending a month that is now up 99.47%. Solana gained 4.4% to $103.55, up 39.01% on the month, and LNKUSD added 4.48%.

The large caps followed. Bitcoin climbed 2.74% to $78,893.55, holding a 25.57% monthly advance, while Ethereum rose 3.31% to $2,557.55 and is up 36.5% over the same stretch.

The standout laggard was XTZUSD, down 3.84% to $0.2477 β€” though it remains up 10.83% on the week. Litecoin was the only other soft spot, easing 0.19%. Even after the bounce, longer-horizon damage is visible: Stellar is still down 49.25% on the year and XRP off 51.84%.

Metals and energy

Hard assets went the other way. Silver fell 1.08% to $63.20 and platinum dropped 1.01% to $1,771.48. Gold slipped 0.8% to $4,298.15, trimming its monthly move to -1.65% while holding a 16.9% year gain.

Crude also gave ground. UKOil fell 1.08% to $102.78 and USOil eased 0.77% to $97.89, but both keep strong medium-term footing β€” up 5.58% and 6.01% on the week and more than 18% on the month.

Currencies and indices

The dollar firmed broadly. USDMXN rose 0.77% to 17.117 and USDPLN gained 0.68% to 3.75449. USDJPY added 0.58% to 154.30, while EURUSD slipped 0.38% to 1.15459 and NZDUSD was the softest major, down 0.65% to 0.57698.

US stocks closed narrowly higher. The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.59% to 29,170.94, the S&P 500 added 0.19% to 7,627.28, and the Dow was near flat at 52,444.36.

Europe lagged. The IBEX 35 fell 1.13% to 19,631.36 and the Euro Stoxx 50 dropped 0.74%, the latter now down 4.12% on the month. In Asia the Nikkei 225 firmed 0.51% to 63,371.80 but sits 8.09% lower over the past month.

Across the tape, crypto remains the session’s clear source of strength while metals and crude were the day’s consistent drag.
