The day’s sharpest moves clustered in mid-cap crypto, where a clutch of smaller tokens ran well ahead of the majors as the London session wound down.

Crypto

GRT led the pack at +7.78% to $0.0194, trailed by LNK at +7.50% ($12.94) and Polkadot at +6.57% ($0.973). All three carry heavy longer-horizon losses β€” GRT is still down 78.13% on the year β€” but each is up more than 35% over the past month.

Solana added 2.87% to $106.07 and is 39.75% higher on the month. UNI rose 3.44% to $7.292, extending a run that leaves it 82% higher over 30 days.

The majors were quieter. Bitcoin was essentially flat at $79,884 (+0.08%), Ethereum firmed 0.98% to $2,504, and XRP added 0.96% to $1.4252. BNB was the standout loser, down 1.82% to $751.51 despite a 25.36% monthly gain.

Currencies

The Swedish krona was the FX story. USDSEK fell 0.92% to 9.4750, EURSEK dropped 0.79% to 10.9944 and GBPSEK slid 0.78% to 12.8003 β€” krona strength across the board. NOKSEK’s 1.09% fall to 1.0168 underlined the move against its Nordic peer.

Elsewhere the majors barely budged. EURUSD held at 1.16076, GBPUSD at 1.35101 and USDJPY eased 0.10% to 156.06. The yen firmed on the week, with EURJPY down 2.39% and GBPJPY off 2.51% over seven days.

The rand extended its run, USDZAR down 0.60% to 15.848 and 9.96% lower on the year.

Indices and commodities

European equity moves were minimal. The Euro Stoxx 50 rose 0.25% to 6,396.58, the IBEX added 0.20% to 20,062 and the DAX was flat at 26,056. The FTSE 100 barely moved at 10,828.55 but sits 17.23% higher on the year; the CAC 40 closed unchanged at 8,282, down 5.05% on the month.

Asia had firmed earlier, the Hang Seng up 0.80% and the Nikkei 225 adding 0.42% to 66,049. US futures were steady, the S&P 500 at 7,713.8 (+0.06%) and the Nasdaq 100 at 29,527 (+0.11%).

Crude held its recent advance, UKOil up 0.58% to $94.82 and USOil up 0.65% to $90.12 β€” both more than 5% higher on the week and up over 44% on the year.

Metals were soft. Gold slipped 0.18% to $4,423.59 and silver eased 0.06% to $66.16, each down 0.65% on the week. Platinum fell 0.65% to $1,812.70.

The krona’s spread across the FX board remains the session’s clearest theme heading into the US close.
