XRP is the standout at the open, up 14.38% to $1.2637 and now 26.64% higher on the week. The move sits at the top of a broad crypto rally that stands in contrast to a softer session across US equity futures.
Crypto
XRP leads, but the strength is wide. Dogecoin added 7.09% to $0.0801, Cardano rose 5.36% to $0.1967, and Bitcoin gained 4.88% to $72,677.61. BNB climbed 4.19% to $652.68.
Ethereum lagged the majors on the day at +2.91% to $2,316.69, though its weekly gain of 23.22% is the largest among the covered names. Solana is up 2.63% to $87.53 and 16.29% on the week. The one-year picture remains deeply negative across the board, with XRP still down 55.68% and Cardano off 76.9%.
Indices
The risk tone in equities runs the other way. The Dow leads the losers at -1.32% to 52,784.81, with the Nasdaq 100 down 1.08% to 29,217.80 and the S&P 500 off 0.94% at 7,646.83. All three carry weekly declines, the Nasdaq the steepest at -2.76%.
Europe opened lower too: the DAX fell 0.56% to 25,976.08 and the CAC 40 dropped 0.51%, leaving the Euro Stoxx 50 down 1.88% on the week. The Nikkei 225 slid 0.83% to 65,491.25 and is down 4.63% over five sessions, though it holds a 53.52% year-on-year gain. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was near flat at -0.07%.
FX and commodities
The dollar majors are quiet. EUR/USD is unchanged at 1.16751, GBP/USD up 0.19% to 1.36245, and USD/JPY firmer at 159.04, +0.5%. The yen is the soft spot on crosses, with GBP/JPY up 0.71% to 216.75 and CAD/JPY up 0.64%. Over the month the dollar has eased broadly, USD/CAD down 2.13% and USD/NOK down 2.7%.
Crude is bid. USOil rose 2.31% to $86.12 and UKOil added 1.78% to $91.47, both up more than 5% on the week and roughly 36% higher year-on-year.
Metals held their ground. Silver gained 1.67% to $68.07, up 78.72% over twelve months, while gold edged up 0.16% to $4,519.24 and platinum rose 0.71% to $1,833.48.
Heading into the session, the split is clear: crypto and energy leading while the US index complex sits on the losing side of the tape.
