Crypto is doing the heavy lifting into the new session. Solana (SOLUSD) added 6.47% to $108.62, one of the tape’s biggest movers alongside a 6.92% jump in Uniswap (UNIUSD) to $4.68.

Bitcoin (BTCUSD) rose 1.32% to $80,059.97, holding a 25.3% gain over the past month even as it sits 28.89% lower on the year. Solana’s move stacks on top of a 47.72% monthly advance.
Elsewhere the picture was mixed. XRP (XRPUSD) firmed 2.0% to $1.4503, up 35.34% on the month, while Ethereum (ETHUSD) eased 0.14% to $2,503.25. Cardano (ADAUSD) ticked up 0.43% to $0.2126 but remains down 7.0% on the week. Litecoin (LTCUSD) slipped 1.19% to $49.86, and the day’s steepest crypto fall was MATUSD, off 3.37% to $0.0976 despite a 58.44% monthly surge.
Currencies
The majors are quiet. EURUSD is barely changed at 1.16515, GBPUSD flat at 1.3592, and USDJPY up 0.08% to 159.37. Over the month the dollar has softened, with USDJPY down 2.41% and EURUSD up 1.62%.
The commodity currencies edged higher: AUDUSD rose 0.19% to 0.71936, up 3.39% on the month. The rand stood out over the longer horizon β USDZAR is down 4.34% on the month to 15.934. USDNOK fell 0.43% to 9.30435, tracking firmer crude.
Indices and commodities
European equities opened lower. The CAC 40 (FR40) led the declines, off 1.43% to 8,334.35, with the Euro Stoxx 50 (EU50) down 0.55% and the IBEX 35 (ES35) off 0.81%. The Nikkei 225 (JP225) fell 1.37% to 66,164.60, though it holds a 54.65% gain on the year.
Wall Street benchmarks were near flat β the S&P 500 (US500) eased 0.06% to 7,720.19 and the Nasdaq 100 (UT100) slipped 0.04%, still up 8.0% on the month.
Crude rebounded. Brent (UKOil) climbed 2.17% to $88.11 and WTI (USOil) rose 2.08% to $83.06, though both remain lower on the week, down 4.41% and 3.91% respectively.
In metals, gold (XAUUSD) eased 0.5% to $4,600.47 while silver (XAGUSD) firmed 0.39% to $69.21, up 77.6% on the year. Palladium (XPDUSD) rose 1.55% to $1,356.43.
Into the day, crypto is the clear leader on the board while European indices are the session’s soft spot.
