Crypto is doing the heavy lifting into the new session. Ethereum leads the covered names with a 2.23% gain to $2,496.62, extending a 30.07% monthly run, while the Nasdaq 100 climbs 1.29% to 29,587.88.
Crypto
Ethereum’s 2.23% move tops the majors, but the momentum is broad. Bitcoin holds firmer at $78,714.28, up 0.25% on the day and 23.30% on the month.
Solana adds 1.09% to $97.58 and BNB gains 1.21% to $701.55, both up more than 23% over the month. XRP is the standout laggard here, down 0.73% to $1.42285, though it remains 33.35% higher on the month.
Among the wider field, XTZ jumped 15.51% to $0.22755, while MAT slid 13.77% to $0.0971 despite a 36.57% weekly gain β a reminder of how sharply the smaller names swing.
Indices
US equities set the tone. Beyond the Nasdaq 100’s 1.29%, the S&P 500 rose 0.64% to 7,725.33 and the Dow added 0.21% to 53,657.37, keeping year gains near 19.57% and 17.77% respectively.
Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 0.77% to 66,147.85, now up 56.25% on the year. Europe was mixed: the DAX added 0.22% to 26,310.85, while the FTSE 100 slipped 0.31% to 10,854.51 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng eased 0.23%.
Currencies
The dollar is broadly firmer. USDSEK rose 0.89% to 9.52603, USDNOK gained 0.73% to 9.34694, and USDCHF added 0.54% to 0.8051.
The kiwi is the softest major, with NZDUSD down 0.59% to 0.59386. GBPUSD fell 0.44% to 1.3585 and EURUSD eased 0.20% to 1.16507, both still holding monthly gains above 2%. USDJPY was near flat at 159.25, though it remains down 2.81% on the month.
Metals and energy
Gold is one of the day’s notable decliners, off 0.76% to $4,623.91, yet it holds a 14.88% monthly and 36.17% yearly advance. Silver ticked up 0.35% to $68.96, extending a 78.65% year-on-year climb, while platinum eased 0.57% to $1,847.96.
Crude firmed after a weak week. USOil rose 0.92% to $81.40 and UKOil added 0.81% to $86.24, both still down more than 5% on the week.
Gold’s pullback against a firmer dollar remains the clearest contrast to the risk-on tone in equities and crypto.
