Crypto owns the opening tape. Ethereum jumped 19.53% to $2,290.36, the single biggest move in the coverage list and now up 21.57% on the week and 18.78% on the month.

The strength was broad rather than isolated, and precious metals joined in while the dollar leaked lower across the board.

Crypto

Ethereum led, but the gains ran deep. Solana rose 12.55% to $86.61, XRP added 12.19% to $1.1226, and Stellar climbed 11.21%. Cardano gained 9.65% to $0.1909, Dogecoin 8.43%, and Bitcoin itself rose 7.69% to $69,651.64, up 9.81% over the week.

BNB was the relative laggard among majors at +4.35% to $628.97. Even after the session, the one-year picture stays deeply negative β€” Ethereum is still down 47.19% and XRP off 61.96% β€” a reminder of how far these names fell before this bounce.

Metals

The metals complex moved with conviction. Platinum climbed 6.64% to $1,824.52, silver added 6.43% to $66.97, and gold rose 4.40% to $4,523.43. Palladium rounded out the group at +4.35%.

The longer horizon underlines the trend: silver is up 76.71% over the year and 13.80% on the month, while gold holds a 35.15% annual gain.

Currencies

The Swiss franc was the day’s dominant force in FX. USD/CHF fell 1.88% to 0.7969, the biggest loser in the set, with GBP/CHF down 1.32%, CAD/CHF off 1.24%, and EUR/CHF lower by 1.02%.

Beyond the franc, the dollar softened widely. USD/SEK dropped 1.18%, USD/ZAR fell 1.26% to 16.042, USD/NOK slid 0.95%, and USD/JPY eased 0.91% to 158.09. EUR/USD rose 0.85% to 1.16736 and GBP/USD gained 0.51% to 1.36039.

The commodity dollars firmed too, with NZD/USD up 0.95% and AUD/USD up 0.56%. CHF/JPY, capturing the franc’s dominance, rose 0.90% to 198.17.

Indices and energy

Equities were a quieter counterpoint. The Hang Seng led at +1.27% to 25,716.76, while the S&P 500 edged up 0.26% and the Nasdaq 100 barely moved at +0.08%. European boards leaned red, with the Euro Stoxx 50 down 0.58% and the IBEX 35 off 0.50%, both nursing weekly losses near 1.8%.

Oil sat still on the day β€” Brent at $89.88 and WTI at $84.37 β€” though both carry weekly gains of roughly 5%.

The franc remains the clearest thread running through the currency board this morning, and crypto is where the size of the moves lives.
