Bitcoin is barely moving, but the alts around it are not. Polkadot (+3.14%), Tezos (+3.1%) and Cardano (+2.43%) lead the day’s gainers, while BTC sits at $63,660, up just 0.27%.

Crypto

The rotation is into smaller names. Cardano stands out on the longer view, up 19.85% on the week and 23.44% on the month at $0.1938.

The majors are quiet by comparison. Ethereum eased 0.94% to $1,865, and XRP slipped 0.55% to $1.0792. The weak spot is UNI, down 6.27% and the biggest crypto loser on the board.

Currencies

The yen is the clear FX story. USD/JPY is at 157.19, down 4.07% on the week, and the pressure runs across the crosses: AUD/JPY fell 0.95%, GBP/JPY 0.72% and EUR/JPY 0.55%.

The dollar firmed modestly against most others on the session. EUR/USD slipped 0.30% to 1.15065 but holds a 1.06% weekly gain, while GBP/USD eased 0.48% to 1.34243. The Aussie was among the session’s softer majors, with AUD/USD down 0.67%.

Equities and Metals

Europe leads the risk tone. The Euro Stoxx 50 rose 1.11%, the IBEX 1.03% and the DAX 0.97%. Wall Street’s benchmarks closed higher too, with the Nasdaq 100 up 1.10% and the S&P 500 up 1.07%.

Metals leaned lower. Gold slipped 0.48% to $4,055, while platinum and palladium fell 1.92% and 2.14% respectively. Crude also softened, with US oil down 0.85% to $78.76.

The yen crosses remain the session’s most active corner, and the crypto alts are where the day’s momentum sits.
