Ethereum led the tape on Wednesday, surging 19.53% to $2,290.36 as a broad crypto bid ran through the session. The move stretched to 21.57% on the week and 18.78% on the month, though ETH is still down 47.19% over the year.
Crypto
The rally was wide. Solana climbed 12.55% to $86.61, XRP gained 12.19% to $1.1226, and Stellar added 11.21%. Bitcoin rose 7.69% to $69,651.64, up 9.81% on the week.

Despite the session strength, the year-over-year picture stays deep in the red across most of the group, with XRP off 61.96% and Cardano down 78.32%.
Metals
Precious metals ran alongside crypto. Platinum led with a 6.64% gain to $1,824.52, silver rose 6.43% to $66.97, and gold added 4.40% to $4,523.43 β a fresh leg higher that leaves bullion up 35.15% on the year. Silver’s year gain now stands at 76.71%. Palladium rounded out the board at +4.35%.
Currencies
The dollar sagged, most visibly against the franc. USD/CHF fell 1.88% to 0.7969, the day’s biggest FX loser, with AUD/CHF (-1.39%), GBP/CHF (-1.32%) and CAD/CHF (-1.24%) all sliding as the franc firmed broadly.
EUR/USD rose 0.85% to 1.16736 and GBP/USD added 0.51% to 1.36039. The commodity currencies gained too: NZD/USD up 0.95% to 0.59276 and AUD/USD up 0.56% to 0.71195.
Elsewhere in the greenback complex, USD/SEK dropped 1.18%, USD/ZAR fell 1.26% to 16.042, and USD/JPY eased 0.91% to 158.09. USD/NOK slid 0.95%, extending its monthly decline to 3.29%.
Equities
US benchmarks closed narrowly higher. The S&P 500 rose 0.26% to 7,709.88, the Dow added 0.23% to 53,459.03, and the Nasdaq 100 edged up 0.08% to 29,460.61 β though all three remain lower on the week, the Nasdaq off 2.14%.
Europe lagged. The Euro Stoxx 50 fell 0.58% to 6,438.58 and the IBEX 35 dropped 0.50%, both down more than 1.8% on the week. In Asia, the Hang Seng stood out with a 1.27% gain.
Crude was flat into the close, with USOil at $84.37 and UKOil at $89.88, but both hold weekly gains near 5%. The franc’s broad bid remains the session’s clearest crosscurrent.
