Crypto did the heavy lifting into the US close. XRP jumped 5.78% to $1.5454 and is now up 54.28% on the week, the standout among the majors, while the broader complex followed.

Crypto

XRP topped the covered names, extending a 41.02% monthly run. Ethereum added 2.36% to $2,479, Solana rose 2.44% to $96.04 and Dogecoin gained 2.73% to $0.0942.

Bitcoin lagged the pack but still firmed 1.20% to $77,979, up 20.95% over the week. BNB rose 1.61% to $705.35 and Cardano ticked up 1.42% to $0.2288.

Beyond the covered set, the smaller tokens ran hardest: GRT surged 11.25% and AXS climbed 9.29%, the two biggest movers on the board. Every major crypto pair carries a double-digit weekly gain, a rare clean sweep.

Metals

The precious metals kept grinding higher. Gold added 0.46% to $4,624, now up 14.10% on the month and 37.26% on the year.

Indices

Wall Street closed narrowly higher. The Nasdaq 100 gained 0.32% to 29,390, the S&P 500 rose 0.20% to 7,686 and the Dow added 0.12% to 53,324. Both the S&P and Nasdaq remain down on the week, off 0.79% and 2.04% respectively.

Europe finished firmer, led by the IBEX 35 up 0.80% to 19,956 and the Euro Stoxx 50 up 0.58%. The Hang Seng closed 0.78% higher at 25,898, while the Nikkei 225 rose 0.34% to 66,189 but is down 3.97% over the week.

FX and energy

The dollar was mixed and quiet. USDNOK fell 0.36% to 9.2658 and USDZAR eased 0.17% to 15.98, extending a 4.89% monthly slide in the rand’s favour. USDCAD firmed 0.26% to 1.3804 and USDTRY rose 0.59% to 48.05. EURUSD held flat at 1.16755, GBPUSD slipped 0.06% to 1.36324, and USDJPY eased 0.16% to 158.71.

Crude was the session’s soft spot. USOil fell 0.93% to $85.65, down 4.21% on the month, and UKOil dropped 0.90% to $91.35. Both remain more than 34% higher year-on-year.

Energy stayed the clearest laggard as the crypto bid dominated the tape.
