Commodities and Metals

USOil’s advance stretches its week to +9.47% and its year to +28.3%. UKOil sits at +10.8% on the week and +30.38% over twelve months.

Silver kept pace, adding 3.46% to $65.71. The metal is up 10.59% on the week, 11.52% on the month, and a standout 74.4% over the year.

Gold climbed 1.29% to $4,389.22, extending a 7.78% weekly run and a 31.07% yearly gain. Platinum rose 0.77% to $1,755.15, and palladium added 1.19% to $1,387.01.

Crypto

Majors leaned lower. Ethereum fell 1.78% to $1,874.83 and Bitcoin dropped 1.21% to $64,052, both flat on the week. XRP slipped 0.82% to $1.02, down 4.88% over seven days.

Smaller tokens carried the deepest cuts, with XTZ off 2.5% and GRT down 2.1%. Cardano held month-to-date strength at +19.44% despite a 0.57% daily dip.

FX and Indices

The yen was the weakest major. USDJPY rose 0.84% to 159.22, GBPJPY gained 0.99% to 215.08, and EURJPY added 0.74% to 183.80. CADJPY led the yen crosses at +0.95% to 114.24, aided by the crude bid.

The dollar was mixed elsewhere. EURUSD eased 0.13% to 1.15378, GBPUSD firmed 0.13% to 1.35026, and USDCAD dipped 0.11% to 1.39361, now down 1.6% on the month. USDZAR fell 0.11% to 16.135, extending a 1.48% weekly slide.

US equities finished narrowly split. The S&P 500 added 0.13% to 7,753.06 and the Dow rose 0.12% to 53,951.49, while the Nasdaq 100 slipped 0.23% to 29,647.73. In Asia the Nikkei 225 gained 0.73% to 66,648, up 57.87% on the year, and the Hang Seng rose 0.56%. Europe was flat, with the DAX up 0.05% and the CAC 40 barely changed.

The commodity complex remained the session’s clear driver, with crude and silver setting the day’s widest moves.
