Crude was the standout as London closed. USOil added 1.19% to $82.26 and Brent (UKOil) rose 0.98% to $87.47, but the real story sits in the weekly column: both are up roughly 11% over the past week, with Brent’s +11.25% leading.

That strength stands against a pullback in precious metals, giving the session a split personality across the commodity complex.

Metals

Silver led the give-back, down 1.76% to $64.66, though it holds a 12.27% monthly gain and a 70.56% rise over the year. Gold eased 0.77% to $4,368.26, trimming a run that still leaves it 9.19% higher on the month and 30.37% over 12 months.

Platinum slipped 0.66% to $1,746.27, keeping its 8.94% monthly advance intact.

Indices

European boards leaned green. The IBEX 35 rose 0.35% to 20,202.5, the DAX 40 gained 0.29% to 26,386.49, and the Euro Stoxx 50 added 0.22% at 6,543.98. The CAC 40 was the regional laggard, off 0.17%, and the FTSE 100 dipped 0.25% to 10,823.94.

Asia diverged sharply. The Nikkei 225 climbed 0.9% to 67,118.3, extending a 55.37% yearly surge, while the Hang Seng dropped 1.54% to 25,558.56.

Wall Street was soft in the crossover, with the Dow off 0.24%, the S&P 500 down 0.22% and the Nasdaq 100 easing 0.18%. The Dow carries a 1.2% weekly loss.

Crypto

The day’s biggest single move came from Chainlink (LNKUSD), up 5.43% to $8.737 and 7.26% on the week. Dogecoin rose 3.17% to $0.0716 and BNB gained 2.24% to $611.43.

The downside was equally busy: Uniswap (UNIUSD) fell 4.92% to $3.749, extending a 7.27% weekly slide. Cardano lost 2.15% to $0.1863, though it remains 18.66% higher on the month, and Polkadot dropped 2.36% to $0.785.

The majors were quieter. Bitcoin slipped 0.47% to $63,607.36 and Ethereum edged up 0.41% to $1,878.78, while XRP added 0.64% to $1.0171.

Currencies

FX was subdued. EUR/USD held at 1.15366, down 0.08%, and GBP/USD sat at 1.35026. The dollar’s clearest move was against the Mexican peso, with USD/MXN down 0.43% to 17.056, and USD/NOK eased 0.1% to 9.47932, now off 3.04% on the month as the oil bid supports the krone.

USD/JPY inched up 0.06% to 159.25, while USD/SEK firmed 0.28% to 9.51495.

The crude complex remains the week’s dominant thread heading into the US afternoon, with metals the session’s soft spot.
