The United States released the Core PCE Price Index m/m and Prelim GDP q/q at 12:30 UTC on 26 August 2026. On our feed, altcoins eased against the dollar, with ADAUSD posting the largest move.
Where the USD moved
ADAUSD led the pullback, slipping 0.94% from 0.21185 to 0.20985 in the minutes after the release.
XLMUSD moved almost in step, down 0.94% from 0.18451 to 0.18277. DOTUSD eased 0.94% from 0.856 to 0.848, and DOGUSD softened 0.92% from 0.08695 to 0.08615.
The smaller-cap names moved less. MATUSD dipped 0.71% from 0.1201 to 0.11925, while XTZUSD saw the mildest reaction, down 0.31% from 0.22745 to 0.22675.
What the reaction shows
The reaction concentrated on the dollar side against crypto, with four of the six instruments clustering tightly near a 0.9% decline. That uniformity across ADA, XLM, DOT and DOGE points to a broad, correlated shift rather than a single-name story.
XTZ stood apart with a far more contained move, and MATIC landed in between. Overall the pullback was modest in absolute terms but consistent in direction, showing a firmer dollar tone across the altcoin pairs we track immediately after the twin US data prints.
