The United States jobs bundle - Non-Farm Employment Change, Average Hourly Earnings m/m and the Unemployment Rate - landed at 12:30 UTC on 7 August 2026. In the two hours since, the clearest reaction on our feed came from Cardano, with ADAUSD sliding 1.89%.
Where the USD moved
ADAUSD was the standout mover, easing from 0.20135 at the release to 0.19755, a drop of 1.89%.
The softness spread across other crypto pairs, though on a smaller scale. XLMUSD slipped 0.74%, from 0.16179 to 0.16059, while AXSUSD fell 0.72%, from 0.8975 to 0.891.
XRPUSD moved in step, down 0.71% from 1.0367 to 1.0293. GRTUSD was marginally lower at -0.35%, from 0.0144 to 0.01435.
The only pair to hold ground was XTZUSD, which edged up 0.30% from 0.20085 to 0.20145.
What the reaction shows
The reaction concentrated in the crypto complex, with the majority of tracked pairs drifting lower against the dollar after the data.
Outside of ADA’s near-2% decline, the moves were modest, clustering between 0.3% and 0.7%. XTZ’s small gain was the lone exception, keeping the overall picture mixed rather than uniform.
With most pairs registering only fractional shifts, the response to the US labour figures was contained rather than dramatic, led principally by the pullback in Cardano.
