The Federal Reserve delivered its Federal Funds Rate decision and FOMC Statement at 18:00 UTC on July 29, 2026. The clearest reaction on our feed came from palladium, which climbed as several crypto pairs edged lower over the following 90 minutes.

Where the USD moved

Palladium (XPDUSD) led the board, rising 1.32% from 1,254.93 to 1,271.53 in the 90 minutes after the release.

Crypto pairs moved the other way. Polygon (MATUSD) slipped 1.11%, from 0.07215 to 0.07135. Cardano (ADAUSD) fell 0.97%, from 0.16525 to 0.16365, while Uniswap (UNIUSD) eased 0.96%, from 3.9755 to 3.9375.

Ether (ETHUSD) declined 0.82%, from 1,913.54 to 1,897.77. Silver (XAGUSD) barely budged, easing 0.07% from 57.91 to 57.87 - effectively flat.

What the reaction shows

The post-decision move concentrated in two places: a firm bid for palladium and a coordinated pullback across the crypto names we track.

The uniformity of the crypto slippage - four pairs down between 0.8% and 1.1% - points to a broad, single-direction response rather than isolated coin-specific action.

Silver, by contrast, showed almost no reaction, holding within a whisker of its pre-release level. That leaves the metals split: palladium the standout gainer, silver near-motionless. Ninety minutes on, the palladium advance remained the largest single move on our screen.
