CME Metals Futures — Full Contract List

Every metals futures contract we cover on CME Group exchanges — contract sizes, tick values, settlement type and trading months, in one sortable reference table.

Precious and base metals on COMEX and NYMEX. Gold and silver are the benchmark contracts; the micro and 1-ounce sizes have made them reachable for far smaller accounts.

Contract notes

1-Ounce Gold (1OZ)

The smallest gold contract CME lists — 1/100 of GC. Cash settled, so there is no delivery process and no first notice day to manage. Moved to 24/7 trading on 24 July 2026.

Gold (GC)

The benchmark gold contract. At current prices one contract controls well over $400,000 of gold, which is why the smaller sizes exist.

Copper (HG)

Quoted in US cents per pound. Widely read as a growth indicator because of copper's role in construction and electrification.

Micro Gold (MGC)

One tenth of GC. Still physically deliverable — unlike Micro WTI, the micro size does not change the settlement mechanism.

Palladium (PA)

The least liquid of the four precious metals contracts; spreads are correspondingly wider.

Platinum (PL)

A thinner market than gold or silver, with a quarterly January cycle rather than the even-month gold cycle.

Silver (SI)

A large contract relative to the metal's price — 5,000 ounces makes silver's tick value higher than gold's despite the far lower price per ounce.

Micro Silver (SIL)

One fifth of the benchmark silver contract, not one tenth — the metals micros are not all sized on the same ratio.
