Contract notes
Brent Crude Oil (Last Day) (BZ)
The seaborne benchmark against WTI's landlocked one. Financially settled, so no delivery logistics.
WTI Crude Oil (CL)
Physically delivered at Cushing. The delivery mechanism is why holding CL into expiry is not something most non-commercial traders do — first notice day matters here.
NY Harbor ULSD (Heating Oil) (HO)
Now specified as ultra-low-sulphur diesel; the 'heating oil' name is historical and still in common use.
Micro WTI Crude Oil (MCL)
One tenth of CL and — importantly — financially settled rather than physically delivered. That difference matters more than the size for anyone who might hold to expiry.
Henry Hub Natural Gas (NG)
Among the most volatile of the major contracts — weather-driven demand and constrained storage make for large moves.
RBOB Gasoline (RB)
42,000 gallons is 1,000 barrels expressed in gallons — the refined products keep crude's barrel size in different units.
